Jane took photographs on a disposable 35mm camera and signed the camera especially for this auction.  You are bidding on the signed camera — when you win it, you can develop the film in the camera and see Jane’s photographs!  This is a unique opportunity to own the original creative work of your favorite star.

Jane included a list of everything she shot, written in her own handwriting and signed (see photo).  This comes with the camera.  There are 27 exposures on the film.

This auction benefits MIX: The New York Queer Experimental Film Festival.  For 25 years MIX has presented the latest in queer experimental film and previously unseen works from legendary lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and other queer-identified figures in avant-garde cinema.  For more information, visit www.mixnyc.org.

ABOUT US: 

MIX NYC is a 25-year-old 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose board members board & staff are volunteers.  Our signature event, the New York Lesbian & Gay Experimental Film Festival, took place in November 2012; the dates for MIX NYC 2013 will be announced soon. In 2006 we launched a free summer media-training program for disadvantaged queer youth, and a film preservation program to save essential queer films from being lost to future generations. Throughout the year we host free community screenings in greater New York City. MIX also produces the ACT UP Oral History Project (www.actuporalhistory.org), which is documenting the history of AIDS activism.
